Burrowing Owls are critically endangered in Canada. They live in burrows dug by prairie dogs, badgers, skunks and other burrowing owls and are suffering from habitat loss. Their mannerisms are funny and very odd, often turning their heads upside down to look at you. This photo was taken in Grasslands National Park near Val Marie, Saskatchewan.
